How do you feed a fledgling? Get some practice at our cutest, most unique event of the year: the 5th annual Meet the Fledglings program, co-produced with the Wild Bird Fund! In honor of the our special exhibition, BIG BIRD: Looking for Lifesize, the Wild Bird Fund (WBF) will visit the Museum to teach us all about our neighbors with nests and allow participants to feed a baby bird in the WBF’s care!

About the Wild Bird Fund

The Wild Bird Fund (WBF) is a state and federally licensed 501(c)(3) that cares for the injured, ill, and orphaned wildlife of New York City. All migratory, native, and non-native birds are treated, as well as wild mammals, reptiles, and abandoned domestic fowl. In 2016, the fund helped 4,775 animals — an increase of more than 35 percent from the prior year.

The WBF mission is twofold: to provide veterinary care and rehabilitation to native and migrant wildlife so that they can be released back into the wild, and to educate New Yorkers about the rich diversity and environmental needs of the city's precious wildlife.
