Pauline Maier is the William R. Kenan, Jr. Professor of American History at MIT and the author of Ratification: The People Debate the Constitution, 1787-1788. Jack Rakove is W. R. Coe Professor of History and American Studies at Stanford University, where he also teaches Political Science and Law. He is the author of many books, including Revolutionaries: A New History of the Invention of America and The Annotated Constitution and Declaration of Independence. Akhil Reed Amar (moderator) is Sterling Professor of Law and Political Science at Yale University and the author of The Bill of Rights: Creation and Reconstruction and America's Constitution: A Biography.
