Speaker & Group Bio(s)

The 16th Queen’s Light Dragoons were one of the regiments sent to reinforce the American Garrison. The regiment was a player in the Battle of White Plains in 1776, during which George Washington’s Continental Army retreated northward from New York City. The 16th Queen’s Light Dragoons, in its 18th-century form, has been recreated to honor the service of the dismounted officers and troopers of the 16th who, acting in concert with the mounted squadrons of the regiment, served bravely during the American Revolution.
