Wolf and lamb was listed in the 1887 Hennecke's Florentine Statuary catalog selling for $3.50. The catalog described the piece as follows: "The resemblance between persons and animals is often quite apparent. The two lads bear evidence to this fact. Without any deformity in their faces the likeness to wolf and lamb are strikingly depicted"
