Red wool waistcoat with heavy gold silk and metalic floral garland embroidery along V-neck, garment opening, base, on and below ogee pockets; thirteen gold foil and embroidery covered buttons down the front and four beneath each pocket; lined with natural linen.

This waistcoat belonged to James De Lancey (1703-1760), lieutenant-governor of New York from 1753-1760.
