Description:
Waistcoat with cream satin front panels embroidered all over with a black and brown leaf pattern; band collar, straight rectangular pockets at the waistline; thirteen satin covered buttons; beige floral embroidering on collar, along garment opening, base and on the pockets; linen lining and back panel.

According to the accession records, this was the official waistcoat worn by Lieutenant Governor James De Lancey, 1740(?).
