Leather and brass waist belt with bayonet scabbard; black leather belt with corner-cut rectangular brass plate at right end that fastens to brass loop on left, and triangular leather scabbard with tapered brass tip and cone-shaped finial; stamped number on front of belt plate.
According to accession records, this waist belt and scabbard were part of a uniform worn by Charles A. Schermerhorn while a member of the 7th Regiment, National Guard New York.
