Description:
Leather, brass, and tin waist belt; white buff leather belt has applied tin letter on front of corner-cut rectangular brass plate at left end of belt, that fastens to clip on right; handwritten inscription on belt interior.

This waist belt was probably part of a uniform worn by Samuel Verplanck Hoffman while a member of the 7th Regiment, National Guard New York.
