Pewter struck contemporary replica of the original WWII award medal issued by the U.S. Department of Treasury; obverse showing standing figure of the American Revolution hero with legend above: "U.S. TREASURY AWARD"; at lower right is seal of the U.S. Treasury. Reverse shows group of American World War II soldiers carrying American flag; beneath is curving blank tablet for engraving; legend above: ".1941.FOR PATRIOTIC SERVICE.1945."; inscription at right of field: "WAR FINANCE."
