Tin, leather, and iron canteen; oblate, circular tin body with cylindrical pewter mouthpiece and black leather sling that runs through tin loops fastened to sides and bottom.
According to accession records, this canteen was used during the Civil War by Private William Henry Owen of Company H in the 7th Regiment, New York State Militia.
