White cotton canvas New York National Guard summer dress trousers, with 5 button fly and 6 buttons around the waistband; all buttons are made of bone; 2 straps at the rear below the waistband which buckle at the center on rectangular metal buckle with double-tongued chape; horizontal slit pockets at each rear hip (no front pockets); waistband and pockets lined with white cotton.
These summer dress trousers were worn by Private Edmond C. Bonaventure while he served in the 7th Regiment of New York State's National Guard. He served from 1918-1931. The Society owns other pieces of his uniforms.
