To commemorate the 225th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Paris, which formally ended the American Revolution, the European chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution commissioned this decorative silk scarf. The scarf's design is centered on a reproduction of Jean Delagrive's 1746 Plan de Versailles, which is important for showing Le Nôtre's plan for the palace gardens. The corners are ornamented with medallion portraits of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette, and images of the SAR badge and seal. The scarf was made in Lyons by Cedric Brochier Soieries, a silk manufacturer providing textiles for leading French couture houses.
