Description: 
Silver and 18k gold tray has circular flat-bottom with stepped convex rim and scalloped edge. Face and rim of tray are decorated with applied and chased foliage and 18 k gold lettering spelling out "Welcome/to/Woodbine" and "FVB/1855/May 29/1905". Tray also has engraved depiction of Hudson River estate Woodbine with surrounding landscape, located at center.

This silver and 18K gold tray and decanter belonged to Frank Vincent Burton (1855-1922) and depict his Hudson River estate Woodbine, completed in 1905. A prominent New York merchant, Burton was a participant in the legendary 1903 Billings dinner, where guests dined on horseback at Louis Sherry's celebrated Fifth Avenue restaurant.
