Description:
Cast and wrought silver presentation tray; rectangular tray with rounded corners, raised sides and an applied, egg and dart band around the rim; two cast, scrolled and reeded strap handles applied to the ends; engraved in the center of the tray, "Presented to/ Henry Clay of Kentucky/ by the Whig Ladies of Troy, N.Y./ as a tribute of respect/ to the talents and patriotism of their/ distinguished countryman./ 1846" in script; maker's marks stamped on the base.
