Description:
Tin-glazed earthenware tile with purple, blue, and white painted decoration; buff-colored body; blue-and-white rondel with scalloped edge containing scene of a shepherd in a landscape with a church in the right background, on spattered purple ground with carnation corner motifs; upper left corner broken off.

The early date at which this tile entered the NYHS collection suggests that it may have been from a NY house.
