Description: 
Cotton lithographed textile fragment with an all over pattern of Mexican War scenes and floral design; printed in green, brown, tan and sepia on a white ground.
Gallery Label: 
This textile fragment depicts Captain Braxton Bragg (1817-1876) planting the flag at Buena Vista (1846) and Captain C.A. May receiving the sword of surrender from General La Vega at Reseca de la Palma. It may have been produced for the 1848 Presidential campaign of Zachary Taylor and is considered to be amongst the rarest textiles made to commemorate the Mexican-American War.
