silver teaspoon with a downturned, oval fiddle handle with a short mirib; underside of the handle engraved, "EM" in script; flared shoulders and a pointed oval bowl.
This teaspoon was presented to Emily Jane Beals (1831-1907) on the occassion of her marriage to Edward C. Mitchell January 26, 1854. She passed them to her niece Marie Antoinette Baker, the donor's mother, on the occasion of her marriage to Fellows Davis, October 17, 1871.
