Description:
Wrought silver teapot; plain conical body with a concave shoulder, short neck and an applied, scalloped and gadrooned rim; seated on a round scalloped and gadrooned base with a round gadrooned pedestal; hinged, cast round domed, mushroom-cap (gadrooned) lid with a cast flower finial bolted onto the top; cast, in two halves, scrolled handle with a plain band below the thumbpiece; handle sockets are formed from the scroll terminuses and fitted with ivory insulators; cast, curved spout with a plain band in the center and a notched lip with a heart shaped pendent; engraved, "Jane Borrowe/ from/ Ann Colt" in script on the front; maker's mark on the base.
