Description: 
Gray wool National Guard single-breasted officer's tailcoat (found with handkerchief); with 1" closed stand-up collar (2 sets hooks and eyes), with gilt lace trim and a button near each shoulder; shoulders have epaulette loops; 3 rows of 10 metal buttons up the front, buttoning in the middle only, with horizontal black lace tape bands between the buttons; 4 buttons at each closed cuff, set on gilt lace vertical parament, same on reverse at the top of the tails; coat lined with cotton, bodice lightly padded and quilted, with a button at the waist on each side, tails lined with dark green silk, slit pocket inside left tail; button fly trousers with adjustable waistline with buckle at the center back, side slit pockets and dark gray stripes down the outside of each leg; white cotton handkerchief with drawnwork around hem, monogram "HT" embroidered at one corner.
