Description: 
Dark blue wool Naval officer's double-breasted tailcoat with closed stand-up collar (1 hook and eye at the throat) trimmed with gilt lacing around the outer edges, attachments for epaulettes at the shoulders, 9 buttons down each side of the front, closed sleeves (no cuffs) with single band of gilt lacing around each wrist with a 5-pointed star above; 4 panels at the back of the bodice with 2 buttons near the center of the waistline, a button at the bottom on each tail; all buttons cast with eagle perched on an anchor encircled by stars; lined with white silk, with vertical slit pocket on each tail near the waistline.
