Description:
Bronze struck medal with obverse depicting clothed male bust facing right with legend: "TADEUSZ KOSCIUSZKO." Reverse depicts eagle at center with two crossed spears, enclosed by wreath of wheat, laurel, and oak; with inscriptions: "POLAND/RACLAWICE/AMERICA/SARATOGA/POLAND/MACIEJOWICE/AMERICA/WEST POINT"; legend: "HE WAS AS PURE A SON OF LIBERTY AS I HAVE EVER KNOWN AND THAT LIBERTY WHICH IS TO GO TO ALL./AND NOT TO THE FEW OR/TO THE RICH ALONE"/(th. jefferson)/1746 1946/BICENTENARY OF BIRTH." Medal is inset into light yellow cloth-covered square cardboard box.
