One of a set of six silver table forks with upturned, threaded fiddle handles with short midribs on the front and the Morris family crest, a tower in flames, engraved on the underside of the handle; flared shoulders and four curved tines on each; maker's marks stamped on the underside of the handle.
Probably made for the marriage of Mary E. Babcock to William L. Morris who were married in 1827.

Mary Elizabeth Babcock (1808-1851), who married William Lewis Morris (1805-1864); to their son John Babcock Morris (b.1839), who married Mary E. Faitoute; to their son John Babcock Morris Jr. (1881-1957), the donor.
