Sword with straight, double-edged steel blade with elliptical cross-section, brass cross quillons and shell-shaped langets, reeded ivory grip, and brass pommel in the form of a helmet; leather scabbard with brass mounts, including frog stud.

According to the accession records, this sword was worn by First and Line Sergeants of the 7th Regiment of the National Guard of New York from 1835 until the early twentieth century (1917?).
