Sword with straight, single-edged steel blade with two fullers and engraved decoration, including crown emblem, on obverse and reverse; steel, textile-lined basket hilt with circular and heart-shaped piercings and conical pommel; leather scabbard (in two pieces) with steel throat with oval frog stud and steel tip with serrated top edge and blunt end.
According to the accession records, this sword was used by English Army Captain John Shethar in the Revolutionary War.
