Sword with curved, singled-edged steel blade with two fullers, one broad and one narrow, and etched designs on obverse and reverse; steel stirrup hilt with grip covered in leather and wound with a narrow metal strip; flat pommel with capstan rivet and backstrap extending to ferrule at base of grip; leather scabbard (in three pieces) with steel throat with oval frog stud and steel tip.
According to the accession records, this sword belonged to Thomas De Kay, Colonel of Orange County Militia in 1757.
