Description: 
Sword with straight, evenly tapered triangular blade; brass hilt cast in four pieces; bilobed counter-guard with pierced, gridded surface and beaded edge; knuckle-bow cast in one piece with small pas d'ane and short quillon with globular finial; grip with molded surface meant to resemble wire wrapping; missing pommel.

This sword was possibly used by an American officer in the Revolutionary War, according to the accession records. Similar examples are pictured in Smithsonian Institution Bulletin No. 163 (pp. 20-22, 118).
