Description:
Silver souvenir spoon with view of the U.S. battleship "Maine" on inside of oval bowl; wavy handle with pointed tip decorated on obverse with profile bust of Captain Charles D. Sigsbee, an anchor, and a shield with stars and stripes.
Gallery Label:
Charles Dwight Sigsbee was in command of the U.S. battleship "Maine" when she was destroyed by an explosion in Havana Harbor on February 15, 1898.
