Description:
One of a set of 14 porcelain soup plates decorated in polychrome enamels with lake scene; the scene is bounded by a rust and gold border of band and fleur-de-lis; around the brim are eight colorful chinese figures; gilded initials "DWMC" at top.

This set of soup plates were made for Governor DeWitt Clinton (1769-1828) and his wife Maria (Franklin) Clinton (1775-1818).
