Pair of black wool shoulder boards in original box; boards had 2 gilt stripes , both approx. 5/8" wide, gold 5-pointed star at the center, button at collar end; lined with black grosgrain, leather strap on reverse; rectangular cardboard box, white lid with maker's information on top, use instructions inside lid, blue cardboard bottom.
These shoulder boards were used by Abel I. Smith, Jr., when he served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
