Cross section of wooden pipe mounted in frame; pipe made by boring a hole through middle of log; square frame made of wood with glass front.
According to the accession records, this pipe was part of the original water distribution system of New York City, and was found beneath Center Street during the excavations for the Fourth Avenue Subway.
