Description: 
Scimitar with wide, sharply curved, single-edged steel blade with 8 inch false edge and gilded designs on back edge, obverse and reverse extending 7 inches below hilt; gilded silver cross quillons with acorn finials and narrow ears and langets; grips with wooden plaques joined by three rivets to tang of blade; pistol grip pommel with hole pierced through center; leather scabbard with very long gilded brass throat and tip (the latter covering one half of scabbard) with incised and lightly embossed floral borders; serpentine lower edge of throat conforms to shape of a middle band with two carrying rings.
