This watercolor of American soldiers in eighteenth- and nineteenth-century military dress, with flags and civilians, was painted by the artist for a leaflet entitled American Youth to Honor George Washington for the George Washington Memorial Building on Yorktown Day, Oct. 19th, 1911. The upper part of the illustartion has been cut off, making it smaller than originally designed.
