On September 5, 1781, with the arrival of the French army in Philadelphia on its way to entrap Cornwallis at Yorktown the Soissonnais regiment went throught its parade maneuvers on the Commons outside the city in the presence of the president of the Continental Congress, the minister from France, and the Comte de Rochambeau, commander of French forces in America.
