Cast and wrought silver presentation salver; lobed, octagonal tray with raised, ogee sides and an applied band of ovals around the rim, with applied, cast shell and scroll motifs between and in the centers of the lobes; image of the yacht "Corsair" engraved at the top with the engraved inscriptions below, "CORSAIR DINING CLUB/ FORMED TO PROMOTE GOOD-FELLOWSHIP AND LOYAL FRIENDSHIP/ BY-LAWS ADOPTED NOVEMBER 2ND 1885/ J. This salver was presented to the donor by the executors of John Pierpoint Morgan's estate. Each member of the Corsair Club, a dining club that met on Morgan's yacht "Corsair," received silver mementos of the club at the time of Morgan's death in 1914.
