Wooden rabbet plane composed of a rectangular stock with a flat sole covered with sheet iron that is attached to the stock by a series of screws; sole is perforated by a highly askew slit through which a blade is inserted at a downward angle and tightened with a wedge that is held in place by a threaded brass rod and butterfly nut.
