Description: 
Beige silk brocade purse (handbag) with strap, straight top edge forming handle with no closing device, sides of top half of bag curve out at top but recede back at the center, then jut out diagonally to rounded corners, curved bottom; design on both sides has three rows of cording applied across the center where curve and diagonal sides meet, cording and edging applied in scalloped shape beneath center, cording edges bottom half in loop patter, one side of bag has cording attatched to left and right edges at center, having a silk-covered barrel-shaped wooden bead in the middle and cording twisted through it with chenille tassels on both ends, one strap on each side of the opening, each strap having one silk-covered barrel-shaped wooden bead, linen lining inside; it appears that there were once silk decorations (perhaps bows) where the top half sides curve at their fullest and on each side of the center design.
