Description:
Brown leather purse (pocketbook) with triangular flap with a cord for wrap-around closure, the sides are handstitched with leather, the inside is divided with a piece of leather into two compartments.
Gallery Label:
This pocketbook belonged to a member of the Du Bois family of New York. Its owner in 1911 found several papers inside, some dating back to 1776.
