The donor identified the subjects of this double portrait as her great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Pintard. However, the date of ca. 1820 assigned on the basis of the style of the drawing and of the attire would not agree with the ages of the Pintards, which would have been sixty-one and fifty-five respectively. The subjects in the drawing appear to a generation younger, and they possibly represent the Pintards' daughter Eliza and her husband, Dr. Richard Davidson of New Orleans.
