Silk printed kerchief with an allover pattern of crossed flags with an eagle and military emblems, alternating with rondels printed "WELCOME LAFAYETTE"; printed in tan and sepia on a white ground.

This kerchief was made for the visit of General Lafayette to New York in 1824. It was worn to his arrival at the Battery on Sunday, August 17, 1824, by Sarah Seabury, wife of Harvey Wyckoff.
