Description:
Carved horn powder horn with wooden cover over one end, carved with concentric rings; horn incised with Royal Standard, grenadiers flanking circular symbol of 13 cantons of Switzerland, buildings; spout end carved with ribs.

Based on the date of this powder horn, it was probably used by Abraham De Peyster, Jr., son of Abrham De Peyster (1657-1728), who held nearly every public office in New York during his time in public service.
