Description:
Wrought and cast silver porringer; circular, shallow bowl, with sides curved-out from a flat base, and back to an everted lip; cast, applied handle with three pierced geometric shapes; handle engraved, "A C" in bright-cut script; engraved on the base, "Anne Clinton's/ Daughter of General Floyd/ Signer of the Declaration of Independence" in script; maker's marks stamped on the underside of the handle.
Gallery Label:
This porringer belonged to Anna Floyd, daughter of General William Floyd of the Revolutionary War and a signer of the Declaration of Independence. Anna Floyd married George Clinton in 1808.
