Cliff Wilson, Democrat, ran for New York State Assembly from the 37th AD (Queens) in 1976, and for Democratic nomination for Congress from teh 7th CD in 1982. Malcolm Wilson (1914-2000), Republican, ran for Governor of New York in 1974, but lost to Hugh Carey. He had previously been elected Lieutenant Governor under Nelson Rockefeller, whom he succeeded briefly as governor when the later resigned in mid-term.
