Description:
Porcelain pitcher with interlacing reeded handles terminating in molded floral sprays; on one side, grisaille image three-masted fully rigged ship flying the American flag; on the other side, a brown eagle holds a gilded oval medallion with illegible initials; beneath the spout is a small grisaille tree.

According to the donor, the illegible initials were "JEC", which stand for John and Elizabeth Cox, grandparents of the donor's great grandmother, Sarah Cox Brown (1780-1855)
