This ribbon commemorates the centennial year of the founding of Patterson, NJ by Alexander Hamilton. This is an example of a "Stevengraph" ribbon, characterized by its brightly woven colors and black and white images resembling copper engravings, that was named after Thomas Stevens of Coventry, England, who opened his own ribbon manufactory in 1854.
