Compare this view with the contemporary sepia watecolor of the theater, ca. 1830, by Charles Burton which is also in the Society's collection (1881.13). Burton's watercolor shows arched doorways on the street level in place of the square doorways depicted by Wallace. The roof facade also differs from that sketched by Wallace.
