Description:
One of a pair of cast Sheffield plate candlesticks with bobeches; cast, rectangular baluster shafts with gadrooning around the bottom and around the knop, supporting cast sockets with a gadrooned urn shaped bases, square necks with rounded corners and a flared, gadrooned rims; cast, rectangular bobeches with applied, gadrooned rims; shafts seated on rectangular, molded, stepped and domed feet with a gadrooned band mid way; both weighted; bases lined with brown felt; no maker's marks.

This pair of candlesticks belonged to Mrs. Abraham Varick, daughter of General Floyd, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence.
