Iron padlock; half-circle-shaped lock with keyhole and suspension loop.
According to the donor, this padlock was used in the "Long Room" at the Bridewell Prison in New York City. The "Long Room" was famous for housing the 'common' or lower class prisoners, while the upper class prisoners were kept on the second floor, in nicer quarters.
