Gallery Label:
This is the old ferry house on the East River shore at the foot of 86th Street, now included in Carl Schurz Park in Yorkville. A similar view was taken by Eliza Reatorex (1820-97), of which an etching, dated 1869, was published in her Old New York from the Battery to Bloomingdale, vol. 2 (1875), opp. p. 215.
