Reverse shows seal of New York surmounted by eagle and flanked by figures of European settler, at left, and Native American, at right with scroll inscribed: "SIGILLVM.CIVITATIS.NOVI.EBORACI." and dated "1664" below; legend above: "COMMITTEE FOR NEW YORK CITY'S 300TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION"; inscription: "1653 1953/THE CITY OF NEW YORK/COMMEMORATING THE/TERCENTENNIAL/OF ITS FOUNDATION."
