Description:
Bronze struck medal with obverse showing female figure with cornucopia and wreath; baled straw in background; legend: "NEW YORK STATE AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY"; inscribed in exergue: "CERES." Reverse bears legend above open wreath: "AWARDED/TO" and is inscribed in central reserve: "L.L.Packard/for/Ornamental/Writing/1857." Small square black leather fitted case with red silk velvet lining.
